Single-Phase ACI = (kW × 1000) ÷ (V × PF)

The single-phase kW to amps formula uses 3 variables: power (kW), voltage (V), and power factor (PF). The formula is I = (kW × 1000) ÷ (V × PF).

For example, a 5 kW load at 220V with a power factor of 0.8 draws: I = (5 × 1000) ÷ (220 × 0.8) = 28.41 amps. The same 5 kW load at PF 1.0 draws only 22.73 amps.
